Yesevi Vocal Ensemble was set up within Shakarim Madrasa in 2000 with a moral support of İsmetullah Mahsun. The ensemble members were graduated from National Conservatory of Almatı Kazak. After conservatory, they received training of Sufism in madrasa as mentioned above (before). The ensemble has aimed to get inspiration and advice of Kazakhs’ noble people such as Hoca Ahmet Yesevi, Süleyman Bakırhani, Muhammed Harezmi, Ak İşan and Şakarim. Moreover, they have presented sorts of religious music like zikir, salavat, tespih, mevlüd. Doing these, they takes care of not to vanish ancestor tradition.
The ensemble’s repertoire includes today’s songs as well as traditional folk music. Yesevi Vocal Ensemble has received appreciation of Kazakhs since its set up. At its abroad concerts the ensemble introduces Hikmetler of Hoca Ahmet Yesevi. They had concerts on,
2003 at Tashkent (Uzbekstan),
2002 and 2007 at Istanbul (Turkey),
2005 and 2007 at Bay-Olkede (Mongolia),
2005 and 2007 at Kosajaş (Altai Republic- Russia),
2007 and 2008 at Bishkek-Jalalabat (Kyrgyzstan),
2008 at Dushanbe – Tavuldara (Tajikistan).
On 2005 in 300th episode of documentary called “Dünyanın Kültür Hazinesi” which was made by UNESCO, Yesevi Vocal Ensemble was assigned in the film called “Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Türbesi” filmed by the film producer Bernd Girbah. In this film, Yesevi Vocal Ensemble’s music was used.
Up to now, the group has had three albums and three music videos filmed in different places and its music video of the song “Akbala-Bozdak” took place in the Kazakh’s Antology of Music Worth.
